Under the California Universal Meals Program, all students may receive a breakfast and lunch meal each day at no cost.
We are pleased to inform you that the Lakeside Union School District will be implementing a new option available to schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).
Schools that participate in this provision are able to serve healthy Breakfasts and Lunches each day at no charge for all students.
Universal Benefits Application for FREE/REDUCED status and Summer EBT/ SUN Bucks qualification
To qualify for a FREE/REDUCED status for the current school year or summer EBT (SUN Bucks) for summer 2026 you will need to fill out the Universal Benefits Application below. Please read the following information carefully then proceed to the application for completion.
- If your student(s) is(are) new to the district or there was not previously an application completed for your household, please proceed to the application
- If your household has had changes such as reduced income or added household members that may now make the eligibility of your student(s) change, please proceed to the application
- If you have questions regarding the National School Lunch/Breakfast Programs, SUN Bucks, or need an eligibility letter for your household, please contact:

The CalFresh Program
Federally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), can add to your food budget to put healthy and nutritious food on the table.
The program issues monthly electronic benefits that can be used to buy most foods at many markets and food stores. The CalFresh Program helps to improve the health and well-being of qualified households and individuals by providing them a means to meet their nutritional needs.
