Riverview is a language immersion school of choice in the Lakeside Union School District. It is NOT a “home school.”
Riverview is a 2nd through 5th grade campus. Our K – 1 school is Winter Gardens.
With the November 5, 2024 elections, Lakeside now has new trustee areas, which will impact how residents vote in future elections. Instead of electing trustees at large, the community will now vote by trustee area. This means that each voter will only vote for a trustee to represent their specific area, ensuring that every neighborhood has a voice in local governance. The change aims to provide more equitable representation, as trustees will now be elected to serve the interests of the distinct communities within Lakeside. Voting by district promotes a closer connection between trustees and the people they represent, fostering greater accountability and local engagement.

Without spending any extra money and with very little effort, you can help RV earn money through Box Tops for Education. Just clip them and send them to your child's teacher.
Riverview's PTSA is always collecting Box Tops, but we can earn even more to help fund our exceptional programs at RV. It won't cost you anything extra, takes just a minute of your time to register, and RV benefits. It's a win-win!

JA BizTown is a 10,000 sq. foot mini-city in which kids discover how the "real world" works. Fifth graders become JA BizTown "citizens," where they work in one of 21 businesses, make personal financial decisions as well as for their business, hold business meetings, pay taxes and donate to charity.
After four weeks of curriculum and preparation in the classroom, where students learn how to be a citizen, how an economy works, how to apply for a job and run a successful business, students visit our McGrath Family JA BizTown facility for a 4.5 hr simulated work day experience. Each citizen has a job for the day, participates in business and town meetings, gets paid twice, manages a checking account, purchases retail items to take home, gets a health check-up, and much more!
This interactive, project-based program not only teaches students how to manage their own personal finances and the importance of becoming a successful professional within our community, but it also empowers them to take responsibility for their professional and educational futures!
Lakeside Union School District provides instrumental music lessons for interested 5th grade students as part of the regular school day. Riverview's program is taught by Lakeside Middle School music teacher, Jason Justeson. There are two optional pull-out classes - one for flute, clarinet, trombone, or trumpet and one for violin. There are a limited number of instruments to borrow on a lottery basis.
