DREAM Academy runs as an independent student school where students can learn at home, -online, and with the option of coming on campus two days for socialization and explorations. By enrolling in DREAM Academy, we will support your child’s learning. Students in grades K – 8 will be provided the online learning platform K12 with all coursework, assignments, interactive videos, and assessments pre-loaded and accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. DREAM Academy requires availability and commitment by the parent to support the completion of the coursework under the guidance and support of a credentialed Academy teacher.

The curriculum offered provides the foundation for student learning, yet students in DREAM Academy can learn outside the walls of a school and home. In addition to the daily curriculum, DREAM Academy families have the flexibility and time to learn with first-hand experiences at museums, parks, and family outings.

• TK Students will be provided with the online embark program through k12.

Students in DREAM Academy earn attendance based on the work they complete as opposed to a traditional school where students earn attendance by attending school/class each day. At meetings with DREAM Academy teachers, completed assignments are reviewed. A work sample is collected in English, history, science, mathematics, and physical education every four weeks.

If your student has an IEP and is currently enrolled in the Lakeside Union School District, we would hold an IEP meeting before enrollment to discuss the possibility of choosing DREAM Academy. We advise discussing this with your case manager/special education teacher too. If your student is not in our district, we would first review the IEP with you to determine if DREAM Academy fits your student.
