LMS is a Purple Star School

Lakeside Middle School is proud to be recognized as a Purple Star School (2026) through the California Purple Star School Designation Program.

Purple Star School Seal

At LMS, we believe that every student deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported—especially students whose families serve our country. Military-connected families bring strength, resilience, and a deep sense of service to our community. We are committed to honoring that service by ensuring your child experiences a smooth transition, strong relationships, and meaningful support from the moment they arrive on our campus.

The Purple Star designation reflects our intentional work to:

  • Welcome and personally connect with new military-connected students and families, helping them acclimate quickly and confidently.
  • Provide strong academic support, including targeted assistance for state-identified student groups, so every learner can thrive.
  • Offer social-emotional care, including access to counseling services and connections to community resources when needed.
  • Build cultural understanding among staff, ensuring we recognize and respond thoughtfully to the unique experiences of military life.

At LMS, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. We partner closely with families because we know that when school and home work together, students flourish. Our goal is not only to support military-connected students during transitions, but to ensure they feel a deep sense of belonging throughout their time with us.

This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive, caring, and student-centered environment for all. For more information about district-wide resources for Military-Connected Families, please click the button below:
