App Questions and Answers

  • What are the Approved and Core Apps?

    Posted by:

The Core Apps are the apps that are present on the iPads at the beginning of the school year and throughout the entire year. They vary by grade level, depending on student and teacher needs.

To view the approved apps, go to the LUSD App List (You must be logged in to your Google account to view this). To view the Core Apps, go to the bottom of the spreadsheet and click on the Core Apps for the grade level you desire to see.

  • What is the process to receive a paid app?

    Posted by:

If the app you would like has been vetted and approved, then you will need to find out the cost by emailing the Tech TOSA, who will check the pricing on the Apple Volume purchasing. Once you know how many licenses you will need (which is one per iPad), then you need to get a requisition for that amount and send it by email to Cathy Nevins. Once the requisition has been received, a work order will be placed by the Tech TOSA for IT to push it out to your students.

Here is a list of the approved apps, as well as those that were not approved, and why. (Scroll to the bottom to see the apps that were not approved).

  • What if I want an app that is not a Core App?

    Posted by:

First, check the LUSD App List, to see if the app you are interested in has already been placed on the approved list. If it is not listed there, then check on the list for the apps not approved, to see if you find your app there. If you don't see it on the approved or not approved the list, then go ahead and follow the steps on the App Vetting Process which explains LUSD procedures for getting an app that is not on the Core App list.

  • What should I do if a student is missing an app that used to be there?

Go to the LUSD Mosyle Manager icon on the student iPad, and click on Self-Service on the top right. Click on My Apps (on the lower left corner) then find the app you want to install. Click Reinstall/Update. Be patient, it doesn't happen immediately.
