NEWS AND NOTES
Lakeside Farms
Earns Distinguished School Visit
This year only the top 8% of schools in California were
eligible to apply for California Distinguished Schools
honors. We applied and recently were rewarded with a site
visit which is the next step towards being recognized as a
Distinguished School.
According to
the CDE’s website, the California School Recognition Program
“Honors some of the state's most exemplary and inspiring
public schools. Schools selected for Distinguished School
Awards are strong, well-rounded community schools.”
Our site
visit will be next Tuesday, March 9th. We’re so
excited and proud to be the only school in Lakeside and one
of just a few in East County to be eligible for this
prestigious award. Lakeside Farms Rocks!
Keep
the
Animals
at Home,
Please
Most of
us love
animals;
that’s
one of
the
reasons
why we
live in
Lakeside,
right?
We do
need to
remember,
however,
that
some
students
have pet
allergies,
and some
pets can
bite
kids,
etc.
Please
keep
your
pets at
home,
unless
you have
pre-arranged
to share
your pet
in your
child’s
classroom.
Thanks
for
understanding.
Keep
the toys at home, please
As the holiday season passes, we want to remind
our students and parents to keep the toys at
home, and not bring them to school. We
know that many students are excited and want to
bring their new toys to show friends, but we
have this rule to ensure that toys are not lost,
broken, etc. Thank you for your help in
enforcing this school rule.
Student
Pick-up Update
I wanted to take a moment and update you all
about our after-school pick-up procedures.
Please be sure that you either wait in our
pick-up lines (Kindergarten or lunch tables) or
park and walk to the classroom to pick up your
child. We do not advocate using any other
areas for student pick-up, and certainly don’t
want students walking near cars or across busy
streets by themselves. Also, please
remember that the garden right next to us,
Unyeway, does not allow our parents to park in
front of their gates. Thanks for your
continued cooperation in keeping our students
safe.=
Important Safety Reminders for
our Students
Our primary goal
at Lakeside Farms is the continued safety of our students.
This applies to before, during, and after school.
Please take a moment to read these important guidelines:
Before School
Drop-off: Please have your children ready to drop
off as soon as you get to the front of the line. If
you’d rather take your time getting your
