The Lindo Park Dance/Choir class meets with Mrs. Smith every Friday from 2:15-3:30PM after school in the Multipurpose Room. Dance/Choir is for 4th and 5th grade only. Students must be interested in BOTH Chorus and Dance and must attend ALL rehearsals and performances throughout the school year. If your child misses two rehearsals or performances, he/she will no longer be able to attend the Dance/Choir class. Students may be excluded due to poor behavior.
No previous dance or chorus experience is necessary to be part of the group, but extreme focus and dedication is expected. The class begins with a familiar warm up dance. Then students practice breathing exercises and vocal warm ups to improve tone and voice quality. They also practice singing pieces for upcoming performances. The last half of class is dedicated to dance and choreography.
Performances include but are not limited to: The Spirit of Christmas (downtown main street), The Winter Extravaganza, Founder's Day, Run For The Arts, Festival of the Arts, and more.
