
***All About Mrs. Ward***
Wendie Ward is the lead teacher for Lakeside Union School District’s Home School program which operates out of Lakeside Middle School. She loves teaching students of all ages!
Mrs. Ward is from a large family-- she is one of five children. San Diego is her hometown, and she currently resides in Lakeside. In her free time, Mrs. Ward loves to sing and act in theaters around town. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies (with a Specialization in Creative Drama) from SDSU. She earned her Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership from High Tech High’s Graduate School of Education. Her Masters program focused on educational leadership and implementing project-based learning. She loves to innovate and create new opportunities for students to learn. When she isn’t teaching, directing, or performing, Mrs. Ward enjoys reading and spending quality time with her husband, son, and dog.
Mrs. Ward has been a classroom teacher for ten years. She began her teaching career in the Los Angeles Unified School District, where she taught 4th grade and coordinated academic and placement programs for gifted and talented students at Stonehurst Elementary School. She has extensive training in differentiating and developing school work for students of all ability levels. Mrs. Ward had the privilege of working for three years at an award winning charter school in San Diego’s inner city.
Mrs. Ward is committed to providing home school students with a personalized educational experience. K-8 Home School students will participate in a rigorous course of study that may be completed at home and/or in tutoring sessions with Mrs. Ward during the Home School Study Center’s open office hours.
