Welcome to 4th Grade!
4th grade is off and running! In Math, we are learning everything there is to know about DECIMALS! We are understanding, reading, and writing decimals to the thousandths place. Students will be able to identify and write decimals as fractions and mixed numbers. They will also be able to compare and order decimals.
Our new book of the month folder genre is Biography. Students will be bringing home their chapter books and activities. Please be on the lookout for these and encourage your child to keep up on their reading.
In Science we are working on Weather. The 4th grade team would love for students to watch the Weather Channel or the News Weather forecast as they must learn how to readweather maps and be able to predict the weather based on patterns we've studied. Some students will even be able to do a weather forecast project!
Our Biz Town date is set! 4th grade will be attending Biz Town on Friday, November 18th! All 4th graders will be studying the Biz Town curriculum. If you would like to know more about Biz Town, check out the 4th grade Biz Town Blog and Biz Town photos from the 2009-2010 school year.
