Greetings Lakeview Family and Friends,
My name is Rhonda Taylor and I am very proud to be the Principal of Lakeview Elementary School. As an active and involved administrator, I take a strong role in looking for ways to enhance our learning environment. I have a solid background in Curriculum Development and Design and a great love for technology. I do all that I can to incorporate these passions to better the learning opportunities for our students. Lakeview provides an active and rigorous learning environment with a staff that is committed to excellence in education. Our teachers have a love and excitement for learning that is passed on to our students. We are continually looking at our teaching practices and weaving new ideas and theories into the fabric of our knowledge of tried and true strategies. Each child attending Lakeview is given a California State Standards-based education enhanced with opportunities to participate fully in the Arts and Sciences. We emphasize performing and visual arts, as well as Science Club, Math Club, and the annual Science Olympiad Tournament. Our commitment to learning is reflected in our outstanding API achievement on the California State Standardized Testing. Our last two years combined growth has been an impressive 36 points. Bringing our school to an all-time Lakeview student achievement high of 825. In addition to a phenomenal teaching staff Lakeview has an incredibly active PTA. The Lakeview PTA is one of the best in our community. They sponsor entertaining and valuable programs for our students. The PTA hosts such event as our Fall Carnival, Fun Run, Father-Daughter Dance, Mother-Son Outing, Family Lunch Day, Founder's Day, Field Trips, Educational Assemblies, Educational Programs in the classroom, Field Day and our Family Fun Day. They work diligently to promote a feeling of community at our school. Strong Leadership, strong Commitment to your child from our teachers and staff, strong PTA, and a strong and welcome parent involvement are all components to supporting Lakeview's Mission statement: Mission The mission of Lakeview Elementary is to provide an exemplary education, in partnership with our community, by engaging all of our students in authentic learning experiences to promote successful lifelong learners who are active, safe, respectful, and responsible citizens.
