This website has wonderful music for the kids to play along to in class, sheet music for me to copy for them, stories to keep the theme moving along, and their very own site that they can log into at home and play along to any of the songs. Studies show that the more you listen to a song, the more of the notes you hear. So, if all they do is listen to it, then they're still getting some of the benefit from it.

Websites to check out!
www.musick8kids.com/html/funstuff.php - lots of fun music videos, puzzles, interactive finger charts.
www.recorderclassroom.com
- feel free to peruse, if you see something that looks interesting, let
me know. This is where I get all the fun music for the students to
learn, I LOVE their well-orchestrated and arranged music.
www.recorderrockstar.com
- username is lakeview and password is 89AD2E. Both the user name and
password are case sensitive. It's a good way for the kids to test
themselves, have them choose the "test your skills link" on the right
side of the page, the left is more of an interactive assessment which I
don't really use.
Obviously, all the stuff is geared towards
slightly older kids - in third and fourth grade. I can't tell you how
many teachers from other districts have told me that what I'm doing
can't be done at this age level. They list out four or five excuses, but
that's exactly what they are. These kids can do it. I have just
adjusted it for their level.
Have fun!
