Dress Code

Lakeside Union School District Dress Code *Dress and grooming affect the attitude of students in their work and study habits and contribute to a productive learning environment.

*Students and parents/guardians will be informed of the dress code at the beginning of each school year, and students who violate the standards will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action.

*Principals/designees are responsible for enforcing the following standards of dress and for establishing additional local school regulations as they become necessary and appropriate.

*Clothing and jewelry must be free of writing, pictures, or any other insignia, which are vulgar, profane, or sexually suggestive. They may not bear drug, alcohol, or tobacco company advertising, promotions and likenesses, or advocate racial, ethnic, religious, or sexual orientation.

*Revealing low necklines and short tops which do not cover the abdomen are prohibited.

*Excessive "sagging" and/or "bagging" is not acceptable. (Undergarments must not be visible when walking, standing or sitting.) Belts are to be worn no lower than the hip.

*Clothing and caps with undesirable insignia or gang related symbols may not be worn.

*Students may wear hats/caps with a bill in order to protect themselves from the sun. Other headgear (i.e. beanies, do-rags, bandanas) are not permitted. Hats or hoods are not to be worn inside the classroom.

School Administration reserves the right to make a judgment on the appropriateness of student attire.
