The East County Academy of Learning serves students in grades nine through twelve who have difficulty learning in a general education school environment. The school is a regional program for the East County SELPA and part of the Lakeside Union School District. Additional grade levels may be added as the program develops and the need is established.
The academic program combines both standards-based instruction with specialized supplemental programs to accelerate the student's academic progress.
The East County Academy of Learning provides mainstreaming and integration opportunities with age appropriate peers. Small group instruction emphasizes individual strengths that lead the student toward completion of graduation requirements.
