Welcome to Speech and Language! My name is Melissa Mann and I am one of the Speech-Language Pathologists working for the Lakeside Union School District. I feel so fortunate to be working with students at Lemon Crest Elementary. I provide student and staff support for many individuals who demonstrate need in the areas of articulation, voice, fluency, and/or language. My goal is for all my students to become intelligible and active communicators at school and in their home environments. I graduated from University of California, San Diego with a B.A. in Human Development and then proceeded to earn an M.S. degree from California State University, Northridge in Communication Disorders and Sciences. After an additional year of Clinical Fellowship, I became a California State Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, which allows me to work in both private and public settings with children and adults. I chose to work within a school setting with children because of the fun and challenges I get to experience everyday. When I am not working, I enjoy relaxing and spending time with family and my 2 Shetland Sheepdogs. I am an avid runner and cyclist. I also enjoy camping, backpacking, and mountain biking. I love to read and I often find myself staying up all night enjoying a book. If you have questions, concerns, or would like some information on speech and language, please contact me either through email or phone listed above. | |
