
On February 14, 2013, the Board of Education appointed Dr. David Lorden as the new Superintendent of the Lakeside Union School District. As the Superintendent, Dr. Lorden will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the District under the direction of the Board of Trustees. Prior to his appointment, Dr. Lorden served as Area Superintendent for the San Diego Unified School District. Dr. Lorden has been an educator for 27 years, serving in both the elementary and secondary levels. At the site level, he has been a high school principal for nine years, a high school vice principal for five years and a middle and high school teacher for seven years. He served as a Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) chair for 10 years and an adjunct professor for aspiring administrators. Dr. Lorden was the recipient of the 2011 California League of Middle Schools Leadership Award; the 2008 ACSA Region VI Pupil Personnel Administrator of the Year; as well as the San Leandro Unified School District 2007-08 Administrator of the Year; and the 2007 Making a Difference Award. He completed his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University in 2010. His dissertation focused on providing professional development to principals to recognize and develop high efficacy in teachers in order to impact student achievement.
